Products and Pricing


Available computers through DUBS ETC:
Each computer must meet certain minimum requirements, which include Pentium 3 and 4 processors, a minimum of 248 and 512 & up MB of RAM, and a 20 to 40GB & up internal hard drive. Licensed copies of Microsoft Windows XP Professional preinstalled and the Microsoft Office 2003 Standard office suite installed based on eligibility. Desktop computers include a keyboard with a numeric keypad and a mouse. Notebook computers are equipped with either a touchpad or a pointing stick. Future system configurations:
We expect to regularly enhance our basic computer configurations as more products become available from an expanding number of donors.

DUBS ETC systems & low-priced new products:
Our refurbished machines are designed for office applications. Their central processing units (CPUs) are intended to be more durable than those manufactured for home use. Our extensive research of such equipment indicates that these refurbished systems usually last three to five years and experience fewer problems and failures than their consumer-oriented counterparts.

Reliability:
DUBS Contract Technicians must stand behind their work and adhere to strict quality standards, which include maintaining a system failure rate comparable to that of computer industry leaders — all Desk Top products have a life time warranty on the Mother Board with a $45 service charge replacement fee and all Laptops are guaranteed for 90 days. Computers are cleaned inside and out, missing and broken parts are replaced, and each product is rigorously tested for problems before becoming available to our recipients and or supports.

Fees:
DUBS ETC charges administrative fees (non-refundable) for the products we offer in an effort to support the organization, its contractors and to partially subsidize our donation and cost.
The fees typically represent a small percentage of the original retail price of the product. They vary product by product and are based on a number of factors:
• The processor type
• The amount of memory requested
• The size of the Hard Drive requested
• The expected volume of requests
• the nature of our agreement with the donor
By charging administrative fees (non-refundable), we are ensuring that DUBS ETC will continue to be able to offer donated and discounted technology products as efficiently as possible and at the lowest possible cost. Administrative fees (non-refundable) must cover the costs associated with obtaining and refurbishing products, handling and shipping, customer service, and other program operations.

Eligibility and Program Restrictions

Recipients:
Disabled and disadvantaged individuals, veterans, schools, daycare service providers and nonprofit organizations. All qualified recipients under the “Microsoft Registered Refurbisher Program” must provide documentation of status. Note that DUBS ETC restricts this product to recipients that qualify as eligible recipients.

Computers request:
Each recipient may request any number of computers during a fiscal year (Jan 1 to Dec 30). It is not necessary to request all at once; the recipient can space the requests throughout the year. Each request may include no more than 10 computers. Organizations that need more than 10 computers at the same time can make special arrangements with DUBS ETC contractors, subject to inventory availability: *deposit require* call (843) 664-9733, email support@dubsetcinc.us, weekdays (excluding holidays) from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern time.

Shipping, Warranty Coverage, and Returns

Shipping:
Products ordered through DUBS will be shipped via UPS. Shipping charges are included in each product's administrative fee. (Paid up front)
To ensure that shipments reach their proper destinations, orders are shipped only to the physical address. We cannot ship to P.O. boxes. If order was damaged when received, investigate the situation and work to expedite a product exchange.

Policy on product returns:
Products reported to be nonfunctional, damaged, or shipped incorrectly, and returned within 90 days of the date of delivery, will be replaced.
All DUBS ETC donated products come with a 90-day warranty that covers component failure and a life time warranty on the Mother Board with a $45 service charge replacement fee. Although we cannot guarantee that batteries received with DUBS ETC laptops will maintain a charge for a specific period of time, we do expect that all will hold a charge. We cannot accept returns for products with system problems that arise from installing additional software or applications or uninstalling existing software. The warranty becomes void if the product is taken to a third party for evaluation or troubleshooting.
Because the warranty begins when you receive your product, we advise that you inspect it immediately and keep the packaging until you have confirmed that the product is in proper working order.
If an item is damaged or if you believe it to be defective, we will work with you to determine the nature of the problem and attempt to correct it. If we are unable to resolve the problem, we will arrange for the product to be returned at no cost to you, and for a replacement to be issued, provided following conditions are met. Please be advised that you are responsible for all your software, program needs.
• You must initiate return requests by contacting DUBS ETC INC.
• You must receive approval before you send equipment back.
• You must return equipment within 10 business days of receiving approval.
• The returned equipment must be picked up by the refurbisher's carrier within the 90-day warranty period.
• You must send an email providing the date and time the defective unit was picked up by the refurbisher's carrier.

Fee-based technical support:
DUBS ETC offers fee-based technical support for recipients and opens to the public for financial support. Specializing in repair, upgrades, virus removal, networking, etc…
